Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America.  The Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America has a mission: fund research that will lead to the quickest cure for mesothelioma.  Since the year 2001, the foundation has funded the opening of the Mesothelioma Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Gill at the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in Los Angeles.  In the process, Dr. Gill (a board certified oncologist and hematologist) has received FDA approval from the U.S. Government to do Phase I Clinical Trials on a new mesothelioma treatment drug called Veglin, whose research was 100% funded by the foundation.  It proved successful in Phase I and Phase II of the clinical trials for Veglin began July 30th, 2004.

The Cancer Survivors Network.  The American Cancer Society has developed the Cancer Survivors Network to help assist you during this difficult time. Highlights include:  A Resource Library, Assistance locating Community Resources, a place to share your personal experiences with others, and free literature on coping with grief and life after cancer.

The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation.  The Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF) was formed in late 1999 to restore hope and end the misery for mesothelioma patients and their families. Our mission is to eradicate mesothelioma as a life-ending disease through research, education and awareness.  We accomplish this by collaborating with doctors, scientists, asbestos trial lawyers and manufacturers, labor unions, drug companies, the Government, and mesothelioma patients and family members themselves.  These parties may be divided on various issues, but one thing is certain: patients diagnosed with this terrible tumor will not have a realistic hope for a cure until we commit the research money necessary to find a cure.
